For Jews, the Western Wall in Jerusalem is the holiest place on Earth. As a spectacular relic, it's not much, simply a chunk of a retaining wall built around the Temple Mount, the raised area that housed the original temples.
As a religious experience, it's surprisingly relaxed. Orthodox Jews and tourists meander around the plaza as if it's an Old World bazaar.
The Wall.
Prayer tables and lecterns. The on-going rite of passage, the bar mitzvah.
Payer time.
Changing times. Reading prayers and checking your messages. Or is there a Western Wall app? Probably. Leftovers from a bar mitzvah, books and candy wrappers.
