Hindu Hoedown

A celebration broke out in our neighborhood the other night.  Neon goddesses lit up the night sky and singers and dancers strutted their stuff on a makeshift stage in the middle of a crowded street.  Apparently, we stumbled on some of the celebration of five weeks of Hindu festivals taking place right now.

The area of the celebration was bookended by festival lights erected on stick scaffolding.  Sarah soaking up the good vibes.

The street was literally turned into theater as performers sang and danced, holding the audience enthralled.  It felt a little like what we imagine vaudeville or medicine shows must have been like.
