Seeing Maine, Part One

What does Maine look like? Glad you asked. Is it all rocky seascapes and lobster rolls? Sure. What else? Time to take a look.

Yes, rocks, seaweed and a view.

Plastic flowers on an old grave. School kids need to watch out for jumping deer.

Hidden by the landscaping.

Unused parking. Side entrance.

Fall At Storm King Art Center

Storm King is an amazing place to see sculpture, a rare venue where gigantic pieces have plenty of room to breathe. The setting is lovely, the art memorable. Once a year a third element appears - fall color.

Timing is everything.

Zhang Huan's Three headed Buddha. A meandering wall by Andy Goldsworthy.
Walking between Richard Serra's work.

Mirror fence by Alyson Shotz. Mark di Suvero, asking for a little Mother Peace.
A view of the meadow, in full transition.
