Only a couple of synagogues still exist in Bukhara. The Jews from the city have mostly emigrated to Israel and the United States, leaving behind only a few hundred people and two synagogues.
One of the synagogues still open and hosting services is the cute Ohel Yitzhak synagogue. Here's the humble place, crammed into a typical old city Muslim section of town.
Front entrance sign. Inside, the women's section is in the foreground and the men's, main section, is behind the curtain.
Details. Well preserved. The bimah, the area where the torah is placed and read.
