The Home Museum Of Abdulla Kakhar

Abdulla Kakhar was an Uzbek writer, born in Kokand and noted for novels "Mirage" and "Fires of Koshchiinar." His style combined Russian realism with Uzbek folk humor. So says the museum brochure.

Pure period. Kakhar's living room.

TV as time capsule. Comrade luxury and family snapshots.

Where it all went down: the office.

The obligatory still life of eyeglasses and important papers. Inspiration in the office, the wife's portrait.

Surreal setting, Kakhar's writing come to life, similar to the treatment Bulgakov gets at his museum in Kiev.
