Halloween might be making a commercial push into Lithuania, but the holy time of All Saints Day on November 1 is still a bigger deal. It's the time to gather the relatives, head to the cemetery and pay your respects. Lay some flowers and, especially, light some candles. Once darkness falls, the cemetery becomes a delicate light show.
Need something to leave at a grave? Similar to outside the myriad Indian temples we visited, you can grab your supplies at the entrance.
Checking out a grave site; candles all lit and organized.
People also come to make sure forgotten soldiers are remembered. Here's a sea of Polish graves, all identically lit.
