Mighty Mun Bhuridatta In Thailand

Buddhists like to honor important past leaders by making up to life size wax replicas of them. Just to have them always around. Devotees of monk Mun Bhuridatta decided to go big or go home - and home was not an option.

Get ready, the rumble in the jungle. Yep, our hero, 20+ feet of platform-sitting monk, looming.

First up, a couple of undercard monks in a shrine in front of the big boy. These guys have their own special, unique patina.

Two heads are better than one?  It looks like the first attempt at Mun Bhuridatta's noggin wasn't up to spec, so it sits nearby like a sub-head, waiting its chance at replacement.

Also on the grounds are a series of idyllic tableaus, nice 3D work. Time to climb the platform and see the Major Monk up close.

Hi!
