The Analogue Water Fountains Of Mandalay

There are plenty of watering holes around Mandalay, little stations that are a great place to stop for a quick drink. No need for plumbing and drainage, it's all about the water-filled cisterns.

Typical water station, usually a small, rectangular structure that holds a couple clay cisterns.

The cisterns, a metal cup and a protective plastic cover. Or basket weave top. Clever design on this station with the cisterns nestled in dirt to keep water cooler.

Water station with photographer portrait.

Rural station and empty station.

Damn, progress. Plastic jugs and a mega-mart cartoon cup. Oh, where art thou, patina?
