Hang Ten At The Australian Surf Museum

Do they say cowabunga in Australia? Do they want to? One thing they want to do is surf and the gnarliest surfing around is down by the Great Ocean Road, south of Melbourne. Head to Torquay for your gear, maybe some power drinks and stop by a museum dedicated to surfing history and fun.

Cruise the boardwalk, learn about the history of surfboard design.

A few of the oldest surfboards on display, looking like ironing boards on steroids. Surf culture in silly, sexist ads.

Surfboards as confessional art.

More of that sex sells stuff. Waxy. A display showing how to carve a new board.

A trusty dog, a VW Minivan and some wicked waves, a perfect trifecta for a surfer. Cowabunga!
