Puttering Around Putthamonthon Park In Bangkok

Who wants to see what is perhaps the tallest freestanding Buddha statue in the world? We do.

Hello Buddha! He's 52 feet tall, if you're counting. Which, of course, we are. Impressive hunk of copper.

More Buddhas at Bangkok's Putthamonthon Park, inside and outside.

The park was built in 1957 and contains various temples and meandering canals. A nice respite from big Bangkok.

One of the canals and a closer look at the big Buddha boy. High five.

Parts of the park are kept absurdly manicured, like some sort of green fantasia.
