One wants to believe that any house of worship you see must be old, must be part of the ancient fabric of the community. Whatever. Truth is, for many mosques and Buddhist temples in Malaysia, the building may look old, but typically it's not. The style is classic, the construction is recent.
In a residential neighborhood of Miri, the bright Hai Long Si temple sticks out. Hard to miss.
Commanding front gate. Rainbow dragon.
Heading into the temple, not a piece of stone or paint out of place.
The dragon has a long tail. And a warrior as protection.
Even the security gate that closes the temple has been customized to the max. Bling!
