Checking Out The Sinkholes Near Birzai, Lithuania

We're always up for a hole in the ground. Hey, we lived in Florida for many years, land of the swallowed suburbs. In northern Lithuania, there's a park a little west of the town of Birzai dotted with major divots. Some of the holes are recent, but most are hundreds of years old.

A holy site.

How can you tell the holes are old? Count the sprouting trees. Walkways are provided through some of the holes.

Multiple holes and a check on depth, an impressive show.
