The Little Churches Of Old Paleachora On Aegina Island

Aegina's old capital was Paleachora, in use from the ninth to 19th centuries. Today, not much remains of the rocky hillside village save for dozens of tiny stone churches. Some structures have been restored, most places have not. You can meander the hillside, taking paths between the churches.

The highlights are the interiors, simple rooms filled with religious icons.

The hillside.

Heading inside, a variety of icons, old and new, hidden, covered in cobwebs, everything you can imagine.
