The city, of Melang, a couple of hours south of Surabaya, has a nice, new museum that's dedicated to ancient history and heritage of the area. You know, it's all about King Mpu Sindok from the 700s up to the Majapahit empire, rulers from 1293-1500. They seem to be sure about that 1293 date.
