Doing A Little Time At The Ararat Gaol (Jail)

Spelled differently, pronounced the same. Any way you interpret it, you're doing time. The small town of Ararat has a nice Goal you can tour, now closed and tidied up a little for your visit.

A classic stone exterior. Big wall, big gate, big deterrent.

The wall not scaring you? How about we add a guard tower? Your solitary existence. Sparse.

The gaol wing.

Details. Victoria Government seal on a blanket and a few cells converted to a mini chapel.

The end of the line. Hanging area, right in the middle of the balcony level of the gaol. Seems having captive witnesses was in vogue.

Warden digs, plush.

Back at the stone wall, remnants of a sailboat painting.
