Strolling And Shopping At Galleria Vittorio Emanuele

If you've ever stepped into a mall, shopped in some sort of covered arcade, you've seen the influence of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. It's thought to be one of the oldest shopping malls, opened in 1877. Let's get shopping (and gazing)!

The first still the best? The architect Giuseppe Mengoni got it right.

It's a double arcade, two long, two short avenues, all meeting in the middle at a glass dome.

At the main intersection and the dome.

Exterior view, the Galleria deceptively tucked into the neighborhood.

It's hard not to stay and do a little shopping.
