Waxing Nostalgic at The Plokstine Missile Museum

They did a great job restoring the Plokstine missile base, cleaning it up, making it accessible, adding exhibits and keeping the overall feel of its originality. You get to walk through the base and get a good sense of being a Cold War participant. Maybe too close.

Madame Tussaud would have been proud of the wax recreations of Soviets working at the site. Why not up the creep factor?

This fellow is the greeter.

Soldiers busy working, complete with creepy hands and facial expressions. So many options with wax!

Waxing and waning.

Bad 1970s glasses and a screw driver for a pen; we so won this Cold War. A little 1980s helmet head newscast plays for distraction.
Cold wax warrior.
