Checking Out Chinese Zodiac Signs At Wat Photivihan

Behind the big, sleeping Buddha, there's a nice run of sculptures that feature little plaques highlighting signs of the Chinese zodiac. We're a sucker for hand-carved work.

Let's do the run.

You got your dependable ox and sneaky rat.

Hello rabbit.

Getting wild with a tiger and monkey.

Dragon is big. The Chinese believe so much in the power of the dragon that their birthrate increases during the year of the dragon. Wait, it could be a snake. Then, never mind.

Dog and rooster.

Pretty pig.

Missing, snake (dragon?), goat and horse. The lazy photographer is completely to blame.
