Wandering Around Rome

It's wintertime now in Vilnius, all dark and grey. Time to reminisce about a wonderful trip to Rome we took earlier - and when it was sunnier - this year. Rome is full of big sights, coming soon to this blog. What else is there to see?

A ruined bridge over the Tiber to Trastevere.

"Love Locks," a trend sweeping through Europe and onto the rest of the world. Etch yours and your loved one's names on the lock, find a bridge or railing, snap it on and then throw away the key. A fountain in an apartment courtyard, complete with fish and turtles.

The Mediterranean sun setting.

The Great Synagogue of Rome, Tempio Maggiore di Roma. Impressive. Markers in the cobblestone streets, placed in front of apartments to commemorate and remember where Jews once lived, before they were taken away during the Holocaust. Depressing.

The typical color palette of Rome.
