Legoland's Modern Miniatures

The Legoland builders could have easily restricted the miniature scenes to some sort of Olde Europe city/village fantasyland. They're too smart for that dead end and, with a little assistance from corporate sponsorship, there are also a variety of newer-themed models to glimpse and gawk.

Oil drilling rig, courtesy of Dong Energy. Long drill bit?

An airport with taxiing Turkish Airlines plane. The port, maintained by giants.

VW factory.

Some good ol' American muscle, the space shuttle. Best part of the model, the gaggle of launch observers.

No matter why you came, what you look at, the takeaway is the passing of generations, the bonding between parent and child over those silly, wonderful little bricks.
