There's a little of the Old World in Dubai, mainly in the Souk and surrounding area. Busy shop stalls selling textiles and spices, old boats on a nearby inlet.

This reminds me a bit of the souk in Muscat. No high rises just of the port though. I think this would be my favorite haunt of Dubai if I find myself there one day, for the character of its lines and story of its people.
