Kaohsiung Museum of Labor

Flex that wrench. The Museum of Labor in Kaohsiung is a nice nod to the hard work done in the area in the past decades, from the big port to factory jobs churning out goods for export. The museum seems to be in a building occupied by actual labor guild offices - a nice touch.

One of the first things you see, a nice graphic of workers marching for better conditions.

Exhibit about the port of Kaohsiung. Out front, a giant, Diet Coke commercial worthy shirtless he-man mannequin.

In the spring of 2019, the museum had a nice show focusing on the history of the textile industry. Nice touch using a tape measure for a time line.

Sewing machines and great clothing material tags.

An old photo, bringing the concept of the museum together, both a history and honoring of past labor in Kaohsiung.
