Vienna's Mighty Stephansdom Catherdral

Stephansdom - or St Stephen's - Cathedral is the Roman Catholic Archdiocese seat in Vienna and looks every soaring inch of it. The building is a tiled, guilded beauty, dominating a square in central Vienna.

Completed in 1160, a Gothic monument.

The interior, not ceding any stylistic embellishments to the outside.

Take a pew, have the place to yourself.

A couple of details, protruding cherub and potted palms.

Heading around the back, the fantastic tiled roof comes into view.
