Blind To The Craft

In Georgetown, Penang, the sun shines hard and the rain comes in frequent furious showers. Stores are generally open to the street and need instant protection. Enter one of the dying arts of the town: traditional wooden blinds that have been hand painted. They're a humble craft, but a unique craft nonetheless and they make a bigger impression now for their rarity than they must have decades ago. It'll be a shame once they're completely gone.

An old craft with modern advertising. Sometimes you're not sure what they're selling, but best not to ask. Tanks for shopping? Sorry...
