Bare Bear Exhibition, Taipei

In an otherwise empty string of stores in a shopping center near Taipei's zoo is a bear museum. "All about Bears" the sign promises and that is correct. You walk in, wander around the informative displays and get a bear (bare) education. But there aren't any live bears, only a few sad plastic stand-ins, ready for a kid beat down. It's clear the show is filler until a paying renter comes along. The experience is a bit surreal.

The confident sign and an inanimate bear.

The lonely lineup of exhibits.

A couple more large bear paperweights.
