Are you looking for something different in Bangkok? You can't beat (off?) the tiny Chao Mae Tuptim shrine, now hidden behind the Swissotel. The area of the shrine is only about 350 square feet, basically a little park between the hotel and a canal. You walk past the hotel entrance, down through a parking garage and next to a laundry area and then the little park appears. People come to leave a phallus for good luck and, obviously, fertility.
We could make a bunch of remarks about when it was erected or the beautiful shafts of light that fall upon the penises, but we'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
The shrine.
Phallus offerings on the ground, on tables.
Yep, it's raining penises.
But not completely. Many non-phallus offerings are also present, as well as a few dresses. Fertility for all!
Hah, merely small diversions to the endless penises at hand (job?).
The most impressive examples, penises with a penis. Escher gone wild?
