The Waiting Game

There's a lot of hanging out in Nepal. The action (or lack of) is in the street, on the block and, most important, out in the warm sun. Many homes lack heat and have sporadic electricity, so staying inside is a cold, lonely existence. Time to get out and mingle. Or at least gather.

The men get together -- and so do the women.

Once you're done chatting, crack out the papers. Or separate into groups, game players and conversationalists.

Or just wait at a store - as good a public square as any.
