A Golden Oldie In Patan

There's a jewel of a temple in Patan called Hiranyanarna Mahavihara or "Golden Monastery" in Sanskrit. It's common nickname is the Golden Temple for all the shiny metalwork covering most surfaces of the little gem.

Unfortunately, the main temple was in the middle of restoration and hidden under scaffolding. Here's the little shrine centered in the front courtyard. The beaming top.

Details of the fine metalwork. A lifelike monkey looking regal and the ever present patinaed prayer wheels.

Gods - some so worn they literally have a featureless face.
