Easing Into The Elgin Hotel In Darjeeling

Darjeeling has a rich English influenced history and the Brits left behind many traditional buildings. Churches, schools, government buildings and museums were built in various English styles. We stayed in an old hotel, the Elgin. The place would have been right at home on some rural heath back in England.

The fog sets the mood.

Red is where it's at, from the English-style mailbox to the beautiful flowers.

A view down the valley of Darjeeling.

The best feature: the gardens.
