Chennai Metro

In addition to the extensive national train service in India, there's a local Metro line as well (and new lines being built). A couple of stations are near our neighborhood: giant buildings that were meant to be not just a train stop but also a place for shops. Mostly the shops haven't materialized, leaving vast empty spaces.

The Metro is elevated. Here's a typical platform. And the evening rush is on....

One of the vast, empty station areas. The lower concourses go on forever, almost as if the projects were over built as a make-work opportunity. Drinking fountains.

A photo exhibition brightened the space for boys eager to pose and some train waiters.

Your bathroom options read like a wall menu. Full service, courtesy of the contractor.
