Vending Variety

Breezing right past the mighty international brands like Coke, Coke Light (sounds so much better than Diet Coke) and Marlboro, what's available in Japanese vending machines?

Tea is big and also comes in unexpected varieties. Straight tea, for the heterosexual demographic? Espresso tea, for the dyslexic taste demographic?

Then there's the cute stuff. Who can resist a nice, chilled Qoo? We have no idea what it tastes like. A soft puppy? Mmm, yummy Bikkle. Sounds friendly, until you have flashes of "Taxi Driver" and sociopath Travis. "Are you drinking with me?" Enjoy!

Enough of the drinking, time for a smoke. Talk about cigarette subterfuge. Peace? Hope? How about speechless?

  1. I thought the hot beverages in the vending machines were cool. Quote from something I read once "Japan has more vending machines per capita than any other country in the world. Selling everything from hot and cold drinks, cigarettes, woman’s underwear and even live lobsters..." not sure if it's all true, but certainly interesting!
