So many temples in Kyoto, so much confusion after awhile. We started to joke a bit about how many funky themes could have a temple and then our fantasy came true. While walking between a couple of really important, guidebook-approved places on our itinerary, we stumbled upon a forgotten gem of a temple.
It looks normal from the outside, another fine piece of architecture nestled in a beautiful landscape. And a red fence, nothing unusual there. But what are those little white things?
Bunnies!
Yes, a temple themed for the mighty rabbit - so cute. The bunny is depicted in black marble or white, take your pick.
They're breeding like... Looking like a slot machine and depicted on a traditional lantern.
A truly inspired theme for a temple!
