In west Kyoto sits the incredibly photogenic Golden Pavilion temple. It's absurdly beautiful, nestled in a lovely landscaped garden and pond. The proportions aren't overwhelming, but the gold color shines like a light that just screams, "Look at me, I'm stunning!" Oh, we saw you.
Even the tickets were beautiful. The back of the temple is as lovely as the front.
Also on the grounds were an impressive tree, held up by careful support and a roof of twigs that just keeps getting thicker with each restoration. Fun with nature.
