Claymation Alley, Bhaktapur

Actually, a place called Potter's Square. And no, it's not related to that grim American feature, Potter's Field.  Just as it sounds, Potter's Square is a place with lots of pots being made, fired and sold. It's as basic as it gets, piles of raw material hand shaped, finished and then laid out in neat rows for sale.

A typical spread of clay options all neatly sorted and arranged, ready for purchase.

One of the many potters, waiting her turn at the open firing area. Another potter, busy stacking his product, layering with straw, prepping the slow burn that fires the vessels.

A monk checking out the scene. An old woman, carefully and gracefully arranging her inventory.
