Durbar Square, Patan

You're not a town unless you have a Durbar Square. Kathmandu has one, so does Bhaktapur. Who is this hotshot Durbar? No matter, the lovely central square atmosphere and striking architecture is the legacy left behind. Patan's Durbar square is no exception.

The square, thankfully free of everything but pedestrian traffic. A nice place to meet, chat and hang out.

Brick structures next to traditional temples, a nice mix of contrasting styles. A stone elephant, catching some sun.

The temple with the dragon sculpture. The best building in the square, the sublime Krishna Mandir. From the 17th century, the temple is a beautifully carved, three-story stone extravaganza.
