Agri Horticultural Society Of India, Kolkata

There's a small botanic garden complex in south Kolkata, the Agri Horticultural Society of India. The society does research, holds seminars and has a nice home for a variety of plants. It's a bit rough around the edges (hedges?), but any green space in an Indian city is something to celebrate.

What's a garden without large initials?

Now about those hedges, time for a trim. The place is a bit of a working garden, so pots are scattered about.

Benches enjoying the view. We were there on a hot, overcast and muggy day; no other visitors except people exercising.

The water features could use some attention, like, um, some water.

Beware the frogs, mushrooms and covered ponds.

A couple of signs. Make sure you leave this life pious!

Dog day afternoon, indeed.
